Description
Mycotoxins are toxins derived from fungi and are commonly found in many foods and in water-damaged buildings. Mycotoxins have a number of toxic effects in our health including immunodepression, hepatotoxicity, carcinogenicity and others.
TOXIPLEX detects the presence of the 5 most common mycotoxins found in food and the environment.:
- Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1)
- Deoxynivalenol (DON)
- Fumonisin B1 & B2 (FUM)
- Ochratoxin A (OTA)
- Zearalenone (ZEA)
The main producing fungi of these mycotoxins are several species of Aspergillus, Penicillium and Fusarium.
